Say hello on our social stuff:
Two sisters. One business. Loads of tea.
Fi & Becs Design & Wording started over a pot of tea and two laptops in 2013.
We're a couple of creative sisters who provide flexible (and friendly) branding, graphic design, copywriting and product design to businesses at a fair price.
After years of working in the corportate world we decided to build our little business around our kids (we have two boys each) so we work from 9am to 3pm and often in the evenings too.
With over 200 clients in our portfolio, many businesses have been working with us for years - we've essentially befriended them with great work and cups of tea. Based in the North of England, we're proud to have clients all over the UK and across the globe.
Excellent design and copywriting doesn't have to cost the earth.
We both work from home (in Halifax and Altrincham) so we don't have an office and we are quick at what we do - that means we don't charge expensive agency rates for our work. We love being able to help smaller businesses who need ad-hoc graphic design, support with blog writing during their busy months or just a few hours of product design here and there.
All brands bright and beautiful, all businesses great and small, all clients wise and wonderful, we love working with them all!
We understand independent and medium sized businesses because we've spent years working with them! With a diverse client portfolio ranging from farm shops to fashion retailers, charities to housing associations - we pride ourselves on being adaptable and easy to work with. We're also used to working with big brands or collaborating with corporate marketing teams.
Before starting work we can provide a quote for the whole project or based on a hourly rate depending on what works best for you. If it's an ongoing project we will keep you updated on how much work we've done and how much it will cost. Simples.
Blimey - Becs was on telly!
You might recognise Becs from series 12 of The Apprentice on BBC One!
She managed to survive for six weeks before getting fired in a comedy soap/soup mix up moment. She also famously said she "wasn't enough a t**t" in the taxi when she was fired... but we won't repeat that here. Ahem.
Fi = designer (based in Halifax, West Yorkshire).
Fi graduated with a degree in Design for Industry before starting a career in product design during which she designed luggage and soft goods for numerous well-known brands and retailer made-to-order brands, including TK Maxx and House of Fraser.
Some of the brands that Fi has worked for in her career include Mamas & Papas, Samsonite Nursery, Mothercare, Gelert, Koo-di and McCann Pet Group.
Fi has also written and illustrated a series of children's books called Once-Upon-a-Slime that are available in independent book shops all over the UK.
Becs = copywriter (based in Altrincham, Greater Manchester).
Becs is the word nerd within Fi & Becs. Originally working in HR before starting a career in marketing, Becs loves writing copy that is filled with personality and perfectly matches the brand and tone of voice of a business.
From website content to catchy headlines and product descriptions - Becs is enthusiastic, creative and skilled at adopting any tone of voice to write great copy.
In 2016 Becs was a candidate on series 12 of The Apprentice on BBC One (!)... we promise she is much better in real life! She also works as a regular lecturer at universities across the UK lecturing on corporate communications, copywriting, digital marketing content and marketing trends. This includes a collaboration with The University of Liverpool Management School where she launched a new course teaching practical digital marketing skills to undergraduate students in 2019.
Over the years Becs has written copy for Matalan, Cotton Traders, Lake District Hotels and Manchester Metropolitan University.
Fi & Becs in videos (yes, we do talk that fast in real life).

Fi & Becs in the news and interviews (ooo look we made the papers!):
Becs featured in the national business publication BQ Magazine!
"Apprentice candidates come and go – but you’ll remember Rebecca Jeffery. As she departed Lord Sugar’s HQ in a taxi after being fired in week six of the BBC reality show, her musings on why her adventure was at an end were frank and funny..."
Fi featured in the Halifax Courier when we were finalists for the Mumpreneur Awards!
"A Halifax company owned by two sisters has been shortlisted in the final of The Mumpreneur Awards, an annual ceremony aimed at celebrating parents who juggle business with family life..."
Becs featured on WorkingMums.com to promote mumpreneurs
"She may have become the latest contestant to be fired by Lord Sugar, but Rebecca Jeffery has already made a success of her time on The Apprentice and plans to use the platform to promote mums running their own businesses..."
Nice words from our clients (woop woop):
"Fi & Becs did a complete makeover on our very dated farm shop brand, website and words. We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you both. The work you have done for us is just brilliant, and your boundless enthusiasm, commitment and dedication to perfection is second to none.
The girls are a delight to work with - nothing is ever too much trouble & their talent and enthusiasm know no bounds! Thank you Fi & Becs, we couldn't recommend you highly enough."
